On May 19, in order to implement the national work plan on speeding up the implementation of the free trade zone strategy and building a high-standard free trade network, and effectively enhance enterprises' understanding of the free trade agreement (FTA), Yan Yun, director of the Commercial Certification Center of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, led a team of university experts, accompanied by Xiao Tiejun, vice president of the Jiangsu Council for the Promotion of International Trade, came to Kunming to carry out the compilation and research of FTA guidelines.

In the morning, nearly 50 representatives of trade promotion agencies at all levels, expert teams and representatives of Pacific Electronics, KONE Elevator, Jiangsu Midea and other enterprises attended the research forum.

At the meeting, enterprise representatives exchanged views with experts and scholars on the use of FTA. While further deepening their understanding of FTA preferential policies, enterprises also put forward specific suggestions on the preparation of FTA application guidelines.

In the afternoon, the research team and its party came to Pacific Electronics (Kunshan) Co., Ltd. to conduct field research to understand the production process of enterprise thermostats, the production and marketing of mechanical thermostats and sudden jump thermostats, and the utilization of FTA policies. Through "zero distance" communication with enterprises, the practicality of the guide compilation was enhanced.

This survey deeply understood the difficulties and challenges encountered by enterprises in the practical application of FTA preferential policies, and solicited opinions from enterprises on the construction of the FTA service website of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the compilation of FTA application guidelines, so as to encourage enterprises to fully enjoy the dividends of national FTA preferential policies, open up diversified markets, and accelerate their integration into the domestic and international double-cycle development pattern.

At present, China has signed 19 free trade agreements with 26 countries or regions, and the signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) is a representative of high-standard free trade agreements. The Guide to the Application of FTA Enterprises will point out the direction for enterprises to make better use of FTA and RCEP, and will become a desk tool and practical treasure book for enterprises to make efficient use of FTA preferential policies.

In the next stage, the Kunshan City Council for the Promotion of International Trade will take this survey as an opportunity to carry out greater publicity, greatly improve efficiency, help enterprises enjoy the dividends of FTA preferential policies, and jointly promote the city's open economy to a new level.
